Celebrating Pride in Toronto
It was a privilege to join thousands of Canadians at Toronto Pride to celebrate the vibrant 2SLGBTQIA+ communities whose courage, resilience, and advocacy continue to make our country stronger.
Pride is a celebration of authenticity, belonging, and love, but it is also a reminder of the generations of advocates who fought, and continue to fight, for equality, dignity, and human rights. As we celebrated together, we also recognized that creating a more inclusive Canada means continuing to stand against discrimination and ensuring that everyone can live safely, openly, and proudly as themselves. Toronto Pride is one of the world's largest Pride celebrations, bringing together millions of participants, visitors, and allies each year.
As Minister for Women and Gender Equality, I remain committed to working alongside 2SLGBTQIA+ communities to advance equality, promote inclusion, and create opportunities where every person feels respected, valued, and supported. When people are free to be themselves, our communities, and our country, are stronger for it.
Thank you to Pride Toronto, the organizers, volunteers, performers, community organizations, and everyone who took part in this year's celebrations. Your passion, leadership, and commitment continue to make Pride a powerful expression of hope, acceptance, and belonging.
