From the easternmost point of Canada, I had the opportunity to visit the iconic Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site alongside MP Tom Osborne and learn more about the history, natural beauty, and experiences that make Newfoundland and Labrador such a special destination. 

Home to the oldest surviving lighthouse in the province, Cape Spear is an incredible example of the history and natural wonders that draw visitors to this part of the country. As Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism, it was also an opportunity to hear about the work being done to grow tourism and support the businesses, workers, and communities that welcome visitors from Canada and around the world. 

Tourism is an important driver of local economies, and initiatives like the Canada Strong Pass are making it easier for Canadians to explore more of their own country. This summer, visitors can enjoy free admission to Parks Canada sites, including Cape Spear, as well as a 25% discount on camping and overnight stays.
