In Winnipeg, I was proud to announce more than $3.2 million in federal funding through the Black Entrepreneurship Program to support three organizations that are helping Black entrepreneurs and communities thrive: the Black Manitobans Chamber of Commerce, Amicale de la Francophonie Multiculturelle du Manitoba, and Rahma Community and Youth Centre.

Black entrepreneurs are making important contributions to Canada's economy by creating jobs, driving innovation, and strengthening communities. This investment will help expand access to mentorship, training, networking, and business supports, giving more entrepreneurs the tools they need to start, grow, and scale their businesses.

As Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism, I know that supporting entrepreneurs means investing in the people and organizations that help businesses succeed. By reducing barriers and creating more opportunities for Black entrepreneurs, we are building a stronger, more inclusive economy where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Thank you to MP Terry Duguid, Parliamentary Secretary Mona Fortier, MP Ginette Lavack, Dr. Zita Somakoko, Feisal Adem, Alphonse Lawson-Héllu, and all the community leaders, entrepreneurs, and partner organizations whose dedication continues to strengthen Manitoba's vibrant business community.
